Youth Sports Board
Torrace Dawkins (Appointment as a member)

Discussion
A memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the City of Rockville and the Rockville Football League (RFL) contains a provision for a Youth Sports Board to help resolve any issues between the City and the RFL. This group consists of one member from RFL, one from the Rockville Baseball Association (RBBA), two members from the Recreation and Park Board Sports Sub-committee and one member appointed by the Mayor and Council. Because of a request by a parent to remove weight as a criteria for the RFL, the Youth Sports Board is being convened. Since the football season has already commenced, the meeting should occur as soon as possible so this appointment is being placed on the Mayor and Council's first meeting after the August recess.

Torrance Dawkins has volunteered to serve on the Youth Sports Board in the position appointed by the Mayor and Council. Mr. Dawkins is a Rockville resident that has been active in many youth sports over the years in Rockville as a parent and a coach and is a past winner of the Coach of the Year award.
