Subject
Adoption of Resolution to close completed Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Project Accounts for FY 2009.
Recommendation
Staff recommends that the Mayor and Council adopt the attached resolution.
Discussion
In accordance with the City's financial management policies, each year the Mayor and Council must formally authorize staff to close completed CIP projects. The attached resolution (Attachment A) is the mechanism utilized for the authorization.
Thirty-four (34) CIP projects are recommended for closure in FY 2009. These projects are funded from the Water, Sewer, Stormwater Management, and Capital Projects funds. Of the thirty-four projects, nineteen have unspent appropriations as of May 1, 2009. At the end of FY 2009, any unspent appropriations will be returned to the fund from which the appropriations were made, unless the project was funded from an outside source. Attachment B provides a brief summary of the projects to be closed, which includes the project name, number, program area, brief description, and unspent funds as of May 1, 2009 (please note that the unspent funds may be reduced due to final payments in FY 2009).
Mayor and Council History
