Discussion
The waters of Maryland are a wonderful recreational resource. In preparation for the 2009 boating season, which typically begins Memorial Day Weekend, National Boating Safety Week (NSBW) is scheduled to promote key boating safety initiatives and the importance of life jackets to the approximately 78 million recreational boaters nationwide. The Rockville Sail and Power Squadron (RSPS) has 130 members who reside in Montgomery, Frederick, Howard and Washington counties, who are dedicated to promoting boating safety through education programs and vessel examinations. RSPS is a unit of the United States Power Squadron, a national organization consisting of over 45,000 members in the United States and Canada. In support of NSBW activities, the Rockville Sail and Power Squadron offers complimentary Vessel Safety Examinations at many locations.
Mayor and Council History
