Recommendation
Staff recommends that the Mayor and Council award Bid #57-10 to Johnson Truck Center LLC, of Landover, Maryland in the amount of $109,982 for one heavy-duty dump truck equipped with a power angle snowplow.

Discussion
The procurement of the heavy-duty dump truck with plow is in accordance with the FY 2010 Capital Improvements Program budget.

The dump truck is primarily used by the Utility Water operations staff for hauling dig up debris and maintenance materials. During snow operation, this truck is equipped with a snowplow and salt spreader and serves as one of the primary snow removal vehicles for the Streets Division. The salt spreader is not being requested on this bid, as the existing salt spreader is still useable.

This is the first time this item has been brought before the Mayor and Council.

Procurement Information
Staff prepared and publicly competed IFB#57-10 in accordance with the City of Rockville Purchasing Ordinance Section #17-62. The bid was solicited using the State of Maryland's e-Maryland Marketplace web portal and 156 vendors were electronically notified. The solicitation was also posted on the City's Web site. Three responses were received.

Fiscal Impact
